Percy Jackson And The Olympians: The Battle of the Labyrinth
The 4th book of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, The Battle of the Labyrinth, is in my opinion, the best one by far. It takes place in modern-day Manhattan. A half-blood (half human, half Olympian), Percy Jackson, is returning to his summer camp called Camp Half-Blood after setting his new school on fire (not on purpose, but in the life of a half-blood, this kind of stuff does seem to happen). His friend, Grover, a satyr, is in danger of losing his searcher’s license because he hasn’t found the god Pan yet. Percy’s other friend, Annabeth Chase, says that the titan lord Kronos is getting stronger, and the only way to save the camp and maybe Grover’s license is to enter the deadly Labyrinth and find Daedalus’s Workshop. Conveniently enough, an entrance to the Labyrinth is on the outskirts of Camp Half Blood. They (Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson, Percy’s Cyclops half-brother) enter the Labyrinth and face many dangers to save the camp. The Battle of the Labyrinth is an action-packed story with twists and turns at every corner. This book will get you lost in the maze.
I think I am most like Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, because we’re both smart, and pretty good with battle strategies, not to mention the arachnophobia. We also both seem to be able to think up smart remarks and sarcastic comments whenever the moment strikes us. If you’re like me, you may find Annabeth Chase to be a very relateable character.
