POEMS
I love to write poems!
Mostly of crazy stuff
But sometimes I write more serious poems.
Here is a poem that I wrote about English.
Don't take this seriously Mr. Kabodian!
ENGLISH
English,
English,
Oh what a bore,
I stare out the window,
And stare at the floor,
And the teacher goes on and on,
I don't do assignments,
I don't know what they are,
I don't do my homework,
Just 'cause it's a bore,
And the teacher goes on and on,
The book we are reading is just one more,
Reason that English is such a bore.
I stare at the clock,
And I count down the minutes,
Till I can jump up and say,
I’m free,
I’m free,
For the rest of the day!

Walk Two Moons and me: On a Road Trip across the United States
In the novel, Sal and her grandparents stop at many national landmarks. One that I learned about was:
old faithful geyser
- Old faithful can shoot 3,700 to 8,400 gallons of water.
- Geysers are 106 to 185 feet tall.
- Can last for 1.5 to 5 minutes.
- Has had more than 137,000 eruptions
- Eruptions are about 90 minutes apart
I found this photo of it at: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://blogs.venturacountystar.com/vcs/dennert/archives/Old%2520Faithful.jpg&imgrefurl=http://blogs.venturacountystar.com/vcs/dennert/archives/2007/05/&h=2137&w=1450&sz=130&hl=en&start=3&usg=__U1FdwVCmvnAzZoBYHET7nMte7kc=&tbnid=QfKyB7dkBNNBQM:&tbnh=150&tbnw=102&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dold%2Bfaithful%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den

The Maze of Bones
By Claire S.
The book the maze of bones by Rick Riordan is about two orphaned children and their family racing to find 39 clues and become the richest, most powerful person alive. The children, Amy and Dan, must battle their family from abroad to find the treasure and stay alive.
Their quest takes them all around the globe. At each new place they find a hint to find a clue, which is hidden, somewhere else in the city or even on a different continent. The hard part is figuring out what “clues” are actually clues and which are hints.
This whole quest was put into motion by Amy and Dan’s grandmother, the late Grace Cahill, in her last will and testament. The Cahill family is the most influential family in the history of the world. The four branches, Lucian-the spies and secret agents, Ekaterina-the scientists and inventors, Janus-the artists, and Tomas-the body builders and sharp shooters have been fighting for centuries, but they have all managed to produce some of the worlds most brilliant minds. Almost every famous person you can think of like Mozart, Ben Franklin, Marie Curie, Abraham Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, Harry Houdini, Lewis and Clark, Annie Oakley, and Leonardo Da Vinci and many others are part of the Cahill family.
Amy and Dan set off to find the 39 clues (with the help of their Au pair, Nellie) and out-wit their rich competition that have the help of private jets and money but not much common sense or problem solving skills. The only real trouble comes from their cousins Ian and Natalie Kabra.
My Recommendation
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone because it has a little bit of everything in it. The book is very well written and keeps you guessing, I couldn’t put it down until the very end. This book is really easy to connect to because the kids are about our age and have some of the same problems we do. (Except they don’t have parents) This is the first in a series of books for young adults by Rick Riordan.
