It is the end of the year, and as everybody knows, the end of the year is Final Exam time. Mr. Kabodian, my English teacher, offered extra credit if we posted our Q. 13 answer and our essay on our wiki, so here it is!
13. a. I most certainly gave 100% to my wiki page, and making it enjoyable for all to visit. From a teacher's or evaluator's perspective, I think I did rather well; I included links to all my pages on my homepage, and links back to the homepage on most of them, and I also used lots of colors. However, my front page could have been more organized in a more crisp and clean fashion and although I had no Youtube videos, I did include several google-gadgets, although you must admit (and you did in one of your comments), that they are pretty fun. I think I would give myself an A, for effort and effectiveness.
b. Overall, I really enjoyed using the wiki this year. I liked that it was easier and more fun than turning in papers, not ot mention that not turning in papers saves the trees and our environment. One thing that I was not so fond of were the occasional technical glitches that come with the wiki every so often. I learned a bunch about wikis, and computers in general, from using it. Also, I think it was helpful to my writing becaus4e when you put something up on the wiki, the students, not just the teacher, can see it and comment on it, and it is helpful to get comment from many different points of view. I don't really know how the wiki could be improved, but those are my thoughts on the wiki use this year.
The Importance of Family Support
When you watch awards shows, and the celebrities are on stage, receiving their awards, whom do they thank in their speeches? Oh, they thank their agents, publicists, all the little people, and of course, their family for love and support. And where would anybody be without it? In the book, The Watsons Go To Birmingham. -1963, Kenny Watson and his family learn how important it is to have each other’s support.
It is so important to have the support of your family. They help you through good times and bad. In the middle of the book, Kenny Watson almost drowns when he gets sucked into a whirlpool, but his brother, Byron, is there for him and is able to pull him out of the underwater vortex. Another example would be when the church where Kenny’s younger sister, Joetta, went to in Birmingham, got blown up by a bomb. Joetta was okay, thankfully, but it was still very traumatizing, and the Watsons needed one another’s support. A while after that Kenny was still distraught and eventually broke down and begins to cry, but when he did, Byron was there to help and support him. The Watsons really know how important it is to have the support of your family.
I mentioned earlier that a church in Birmingham got blown up in the book, The Watsons Go To Birmingham-1963. Well, as it turns out, this was a real event, and real people were involved, and real people were very distraught. However, with the love and support of their families, they were able to cope, and go on. So whether you are a person from Birmingham traumatized by a church bombing, a celebrity winning a prestigious award, or just a regular person, we all need the support of our families.

Review of “Twilight”
By Maeve P
“Twilight” is a cross between a romance novel and a vampire horror story by Stephenie Meyer. It revolves around two main characters, Bella Swan, and Edward Cullen. The story is told from Bella’s point of view, and in the first person.
In the story, Bella Swan is a 17-year-old girl moving from her sunny home with her mom in Phoenix, Arizona, to a rainy little town in Washington, called Forks, to live with her dad. There, she meets Edward Cullen, an extremely unordinary youth whom Bella falls deeply in love with. As it turns out, Edward is in love with her too, but he has a secret. He is a vampire, and using every single ounce of his willpower to not harm Bella because of it.
After he saves Bella multiple times with his supernatural powers, Bella believes she knows Edward’s secret, at which point Edward confesses that he is a vampire… and that he is in love with her. After that, things seem to be running smoothly, all secrets behind them, until foreign vampires come to cross their paths. At first, the new vampires seem friendly, but then one of the vampires, James, catches Bella’s scent. When Edward tries to protect Bella, James is set off, and determined to kill Bella.
Bella and Edward split up, along with rest of the Cullen’s, in an attempt to keep Bella away from James’ clutches long enough to finish him off. Unfortunately, even with all of the traveling they do, James catches up to Bella and some of the Cullen’s and lures Bella away just long enough to try and kill her, and, most importantly to James, provoke her vampire boyfriend, Edward. I couldn’t say more without giving away the ending, so that is a brief summary of most of the plot.
Overall, I thought “Twilight” was a fairly decent book. It was undoubtedly written very well, was incredibly descriptive, and had great voice. However, it did start off a bit slow for my taste, and generally, I’m not a big fan of horror or romance novels. But, as far as horror/romance novels go, this one, “Twilight”, was fairly good and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good read.
Feel free to feed my fish and turtle. They love it!
My fish are named Rojo, Anaranjado, Amarillo, Verde, Azul, and Marado. My turtle's name is Turbo.
Above this caption is my adopted vitual panda, Bamboo. Click on the button that says "more" to feed him some bamboo! Also, thanks for your comments everybody! Keep them coming!
Thanks for the thorough book review without giving away the end. It sounds like it's become a classic vampire romance tale; by the way, you're graphic novelization of Twilight was fantastic!
