 Poltergeists of Petoskey

By: Hannah

It all starts off on what seems like a normal day for twins Alex and Adrian.  When on the first night in the old mansion they just moved into, odd things began to happen.  They saw and heard things that seemed to have a ghostly effect.  Cupboard doors opened and closed on their own, cups of water were being poured by themselves, and stairwells creaked even though no one was on them.

As Alex and Adrian started to see blue glowing people, they realized that they would have to accomplish getting rid of the poltergeists living in their home, all alone.  When really, they both realized that the scary ghosts weren't really scary at all, they were really kind and gentle.

Caleb and Catherine, the friendly ghosts, they came on quite strong when they told Alex and Adrian not to go down in their cellar under any circumstances.  But when Alex was told by her mother to go down in the cellar to get the broom, Alex was very surprised by a very scary poltergeist.  As Alex tried to run back upstairs, the cellar door suddenly closed.  Alex screamed and cried for help but the door would not open.  The blue glowing monster was approaching her, with a ghastly yell.  Finally the cellar door opened and Alex's mom was standing there, and right before Alex’s eyes, in mid air the poltergeist disappeared.

Later when Alex told Catherine and Caleb her story she began to notice that she too was becoming a blue glowing girl.

What will she have to do to turn back to normal?  Or will she forever be a blue glowing invisible girl?

I thought this book was interesting and fun to read because of all the action.  I really loved the nail biting, chapter endings.  Every chapter was filled with intense situations that kept me reading more.

Yes, I would definitely recommend this book, mostly because of its storyline.  The storyline was very unique, how many other books have storylines that involve two twin kids meeting two twin ghosts.  The children have to save the day by finding a home for another friendly ghost named Robert before Alex has to be a ghost forever.  It is truly a perfect book if you want a mystery/intense ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more until the very end.

Imagine a movie of this book! It would be a roller coaster ride of suspense. Nice job on the book review.
