Twilight Book Review

Twilight is a young adult vampire-romance novel written by author Stephenie Meyer. Isabella "Bella" Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie. She chooses to do this so that her mother, Renée, can travel with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, who is a minor league baseball player. Bella attracts much attention at her new school and is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her shock, several boys in the school compete for shy Bella's attention.

When Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed by her. After tricking a family friend, Jacob Black, into telling her local tribal legends, Bella thinks that Edward and his family are vampires who drink the blood of animals, not humans. Edward reveals that he initially avoided Bella because the scent of her blood was so desirable to him. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love.

Their relationship is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks and James, a tracker vampire, decides that he wants to hunt Bella for sport. The Cullen’s plan to distract the tracker by splitting up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. Bella then gets a phone call from James in which he says that he has her mother, and that Bella must give herself up to save her. She does so and James attacks her, but Edward, along with the rest of the Cullen family, rescues Bella before James can kill her. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward sucks the venom out of her system before it can spread and change her into a vampire. When returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses to let happen

I would very strongly recommend twilight. Stephenie Meyer is an excellent author, and I've really enjoyed all of her books. She is very good at "putting the characters in our world", in ways that we can actually relate to them, even though it is very obviously a fiction.

Sci-Fi

Adam was the only survivor of a disease called demonism. Adam lived in Detroit, Michigan from May of 2076 to May of 2079, as he attempts to figure out, investigate, and possibly cure the disease that killed mankind, and to which he is immune. Adam's past is revealed through flashbacks, while his emotional struggle to deal with losing his humanity is dealt with by going about a daily routine.

Every day, Adam prepares himself for the sieges of the demons. Adam spends his daylight hours preparing his house by boarding windows and gathering supplies. Once the darkness falls the demons come out of they’re hiding places and wait for Adam to come out. They tease him and try to lure him out. As Adam was looking outside he recognized one of his friends, which turned into a demon. His name was John Smith.    

The next day passed and he found a dog that was not infected. As they were walking looking for things to prepare them for the night. The dog spotted something in the darkness. The image ran and the dog chased after it and Adam ran after his dog. Adam had a flashlight with him but there was no use for it because if he opened it the demons would eat him alive. So he would open and close the flashlight real fast so he could see but so the demons couldn’t get him to. While Adam was looking for his dog he heard whimpering he turned and open and close the flashlight real fast and there was his dog so was the demon. Adam and his dog started to run and the demon chased them. The demon was catching up. Finally when Adam and his dog reached the sun light the demon try to stop but it was too late, the demon got caught in the sun light and burned.

As Adam was walking and gathering supplies for the nighttime he slipped on a puddle of blood and past out. He passed out for 3 hours, a little too long. The darkness was going to fall in 5 minute and Adams house was 3 minutes away, but it took Adam another 5 minutes to get his house ready for the darkness. Finally Adam reached his house but he only had 2 minutes until the darkness fell. He bordered the entire windows upstairs but not down stairs. The darkness was going to fall in 30 seconds. Adam just needed one minute to border all the windows downstairs. He did all but one of the windows down stairs but it was too late, they came from all directions. They broke through the open window and filled Adam's house. His dog attacked 3 of them but they over powered the dog and killed it. Adam pulled out a gun a started to shoot at them but they wouldn't die. They just became more furious. There were too many of them. He could not hold them back any longer. They ripped him open and started to eat him alive. Every bite would hurt even more than the last; he was immune so he couldn't get infected. So he made a split decision……………..

BOOM! He shot himself.
