The site of the super nova horrified the astronauts. They fled back to base to send a transmission back to Earth. The transmission was sent as the blast hit.
“Sir!” called sergeant Klous.”We seem to be recovering a lost transmission from planet 6785497592.” The general watched the short clip then asked in a quivering tone when it was sent. One year ago I replied with the same quiver in my voice. The transmission read that the super nova was supposed to reach us in a little more then a year/ about a week. The end of the world was coming and there was nothing we could do to stop it. There was still a safe haven an uninhabited (or so we think) planet that was just outside the blasts range. There is a space ship being built to travel there but the problem is it can only hold ten people.
So in one week the world would have to work together to collect the ten most important people on Earth, collect enough supplies for the space ship, and proper supplies to live on the new planet. The news of the super nova spread quickly around the world the chaos was horrific people were going crazy committing crimes and other could hold it together. Those people made attempts of calming people down but that was useless. Everyone was going insane, thinking if they couldn’t live why should anybody else. After the first day every major city was almost destroyed and many people had gone completely insane. He word counsel met to gather the ten most important people on Earth. So from around the world people who were specialized in math, science, wilderness and any other skill that would be useful on a new planet.
In two days the in human race of earth coped with idea of saving mankind. And the ten people were collected. A German scientist a Brazilian and an Australian naturalist, two American archeologists, an Italian architect, a Russian doctor, a Chinese engineer, a Swedish mathematician, and Sergeant Klous’s commander. Two days before the super nova the commander was diagnosed with lung cancer. He wanted Sergeant Klous to take his place. This would be his first and last flight.
It was launch day. And Sergeant Klous could see the launch count down from the cockpit. 5…4…3…2…1…0…the rocket flew fast and strong through the atmosphere. Sergeant Klous looked back on Earth and saw the super nova rushing full throttle at Earth. He then started a silent countdown the count down to the end of the Earth.
