What if you were living in the future and everybody at a certain age HAD to turn pretty, and what do you think about this girl who wanted to turn pretty and then decided not to? Would you want to look pretty and exactly like everybody else? In this book Uglies this book is about a girl named Tally Youngblood and her friend named shay but special circumstances are the police and they make sure you turn whether you want to or not. This is a story about two girls nearly ready the operation that turns you pretty and it takes place in the future.

Tally and Shay are two friends about to become pretty and are having time of their lives prinking and playing jokes while they are uglies. How Shay and Tally meet is that Tally goes over to new pretty town and crashes a party that’s when Shay and Tally meet each other. Tally thought that Shay and her were going to get pretty at the same time. That was until the night before the operation when Shay told Tally that she was going to run away and not become pretty. Then the day of Tally’s operation special circumstances told her that she must find the smoke were Shay is running away to or she will never become pretty. Now Tally must choose whether to betray Shay or join her and the smoke.

         In the book Uglies I like the way the author took you through the book. In the book there was a lot of suspense, drama, and some love going around. In the book what I didn’t like was how there was some boring parts in the book that I didn’t think was necessary, but that’s just my opinion.

     So if you’d like a book with suspense, drama, and some love in it this book is the perfect choice and I defiantly recommend it for all you people that love a book with good suspense, great drama, and that sweet kind of love.
