Seasons

Spring is when the green leaves return

Animals dance gracefully under the sun

Insects of all size buzz around us

Birds tweet songs as they fly

You can lie down in the tall grasses

And look at the beautiful blue sky

Summer is when school ends

Everyone eats ice cream of all flavors

Summer is where we drive to beaches

And run into the cold lake

They build sand castles that can go as high

As there hearts desire

Next is fall when all the leaves fall off the tree

They change to many fascinating colors

Red, orange, and brown

As our parents rake the leaves into one big pile

Then we jump into it and make them rake it up again

Winter is the last season

Winter is when everything turns white

Birds go south and animals hibernate

Rabbits hop thru the snow

Deer eat anything they can find

All this happens while we are inside a warm house

Having hot-coco

REFLECTION

This semester we have done a reasonable writing assignments.  I liked the choice of topics we had and it was easy to choose.  The amount of time to write was just enough for me and I had a lot of fun writing.  The feedback that I got was great and I learned how to write better from that.  When I worked with partners was a little challenging because I like to talk but I still was able to finish my work.

I liked the book Walk Two Moons.  We wrote predictions that gave us a chance to express our thoughts.  I also like that we got to read the whole book so we know what the book was all about.  I usually don’t like to write poems but you made it fun by letting us write whatever we wanted to do.  The Persuasive essay was also a very exciting thing to do.  I liked all the choices that we had and that it was related to each other.  The PSA was nice attachment to the essay because instead of writing we showed pictures of what we were writing.

I’ve learned to do labs in science and that made it fun to do.  My favorite lab was the Bunsen burner lab.  We made tasty popcorn and I loved it.  In math I learned a lot of math skills and I used it to my advantage.  I love in social studies how they taught us.  They did unit guides which made it easy to study for tests and quizzes.  In English I studied on the papers that they gave.  It taught me how to write different kinds of writing skills.  I didn’t struggle that much since I got so much help.

KOBE BRYANT

By: Joel Ross

Who hasn’t heard of Kobe Bryant. He is one of the best basketball player of all times. Kobe went through a lot of adversity in his life. During his basketball seasons he's gotten injured many times and still plays now. He's traveled to many of the places in the world. Kobe has played Los Angeles Lakers for many years and has done many things for them and made them a great team even without Magic Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal. Now it is 2016 and Kobe's last season of playing basketball.

Kobe is an All Star player who was born on August 23, 1938. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has two sisters, Sharia and Shaya. His parents are Joe Bryant who was in the NBA and Pamela Bryant. Kobe got his middle name “bean” from his dads nickname, “Jellybean”. Kobe was raised Roman Catholic. When his dad retired from the NBA, Kobe was 6 years old. They moved to Rieti, Italy because his dad kept playing professional basketball there. After living there for a long time, Kobe started to speak Italian fluently. Every summer he would come back to the US to play basketball in a summer league. As a little kid, Kobe loved basketball and his favorite team was the Los Angeles Lakers. His grandfather always sent Kobe videos of basketball games that Kobe would watch all the time. But living in a different country made Kobe like soccer. His favorite team was AC Milan. When his dad retired

from basketball completely in 1991 Kobe was about 13 years old. They moved back to the US. Kobe Bryant went to Lower Merion High School, which is in Philadelphia. He got a score of 1080 on his SAT exam. Kobe Bryant went to Boston college but never finished his undergraduate program because he was drafted to the NBA.

Michael Jordan was one of the many people who influenced Kobe Bryant. Jordan taught Kobe a lot of things in basketball and in life. Bryant studied Jordan's moves and added his own technique to it. Even though Jordan and Bryant were on different teams Jordan was still open to telling Kobe his skill moves and strategies to help him against other opponents. Shaquille also influenced Kobe. Shaq as he is also known as taught Kobe to never give up. Because when first played with Shaq he air-balled four three-pointers. Jordan and Shaq impacted Kobe and made him who he is now.

Kobe was the youngest and one of the first to do something in the NBA which made him famous. Kobe was the sixth player to ever go to the NBA straight from out from college. He is the youngest player to start in a regular game and an All-Star game. Kobe is also the youngest player to ever score 27,000 points. Kobe is also known as the youngest All-Rookie player and All-Defense player. He is the forth all-time postseason scorer and sixth all-time regular season scorer in the NBA. Kobe is in second place of scoring 81 points in a single game. Kobe led the Los Angeles Lakers to five championship games in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, and 2010. Kobe was known as the Most Valuable Player in 2008. Kobe won four MVP's and in 1997 won the slam

dunk contest. He had five 60-point games, twenty-four 50-point games, and 107 40-point games.

Now everyone wants to be like him and be famous. Kobe has Five rings, one MVP, and top four most points scored in the whole NBA. By working really hard to win games he gave people confidence to do the same. But at the same time many people don’t like him. They have good reasons why. Some other NBA players say that when they were a free agent they didn’t want to play with Kobe because He might police his efforts. Kobe was never interactive with his teammates and never even liked them. Kobe unfollowed people just because they lost some games. There are many different personalities to Kobe and you will won't know which one he is in.

You can learn many lessons from Kobe. Kobe was a very good player which you can learn life and basketball lessons. Kobe said," You can never reach your limit because there is no limit to what you can do." Kobe always respected people. Kobe said that a challenge is also an opportunity to you. Kobe was always a great teacher and is now. I now know that even when I have trouble in school or in sports I can use that to learn something or become better at what I do.
