Evie's Career Information Report

I love animals and want to help them. This is why I have decided to be a veterinarian. I would have to have certain values. I think that these values would be hope, helping/service, honesty, respect for others, cooperation, and learning.  Many of these values I have now.

Being a veterinarian is all about caring for animals. It is about giving medicine, performing surgery and researching medical conditions. To get this job I would need a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, a state license and a bachelors degree. As a veterinarian would require me to work full time and be on call for emergencies and being able to work weekends. Veterinarians work in two types of places. They work in clinics, hospitals, labs and they work outdoors, like farms or on travel. With all this work veterinarians earn about $88,770 but, also from their work they get very stressed. Also from being around animals that are sick or nervous they risk being infected or hurt. Many people in the U.S work as veterinarians. A rounded number is 79,600. This number is expected to grow by 19% from 2016-2026. Overall I would love this job. I would love it because I would get to be around animals all the time, just like I have my entire life.

In the future I would plan to go college for 8 years. I would be okay with this because, I would know that later I would be doing what I love for a good cause. I don't think that my values would change. I think that they will stay the same and that I might add more. I will try to follow this path. I can't wait to become a veterinarian for many reasons.
