Reflection on the 2nd Semester

I have had a generally positive outlook on this class for this past semester. I liked the people in our class. We were always joking around, laughing, having fun and you let us. I liked most of the writing assignments. I liked how for the famous person essay you gave us a choice of who to pick. I disliked the research part of famous person essay because it was very tedious. I had the information I needed, probably more, and I still had at least 10 more notecards to fill out to get a full grade. In the future I would recommend requiring less notecards. I liked the writing process because we had a lot of time to put together a paper. One writing assignment I didn’t enjoy that much was writing the giver sequel. I felt that it was unnecessary and that we could have just brainstormed ideas, out loudin class.

I normally like working in groups or small groups, as long as we get along, however I disliked my group for the reading project. I was the only one who was on task and hitting the reading target per day. I couldn’t discuss my book with my group. When the time came to create our presentations, no one helped me. One of my group members did nothing, the other one was gone. My group wasn't very compatible. I wish that we had been in order to split the work equally.

This year in English class I have learned quite a bit. I learned how to create a bibliography. I also learned all the stages of a hero's journey and how many other stories follow the same circle.

Overall, I was happy with this class and will have any fond memories of it.
