1.      It became a national park in 1939.

2.      The climate of the park is very unpredictable and can range anywhere from –40 degrees to 116 degrees Fahrenheit.

3.      The size of the park is 244,000 acres.

4.      The wildlife also has a huge range of animals. There are snakes, coyotes, porcupines, prairie dogs, and foxes just to name a few.

5.      50% of Badlands National Park co-managed with the Oglala Lakota Nation, the second largest American Indian Reservation in the United States.

 

 

 

The Badlands National Park is beautiful park that has jagged rock and deep canyons of all different shapes and colors. It’s great beauty is famous all over the country. It first became a National Park in 1939 and is 50% co-managed by the second largest American Indian Reservation in the United States, the Oglala Lakota Nation. The wildlife has a huge range of animals consisting of snakes, coyotes, porcupines, prairie dogs, and foxes, just to name a few. The climate is very unpredictable and can be anywhere from –40 degrees to 166 degrees Fahrenheit. The weather spreads all over the 244,000 acres of land that is know as the Badlands National Park.
