Thirteen Reasons Why Book Review
Hannah Baker has commited suicide. But before she ended her life, she recorded herself on several tapes. Each tape is about a specific person; and Hannah telling each person why they were on the tapes. Everybody that was on the tapes helped Hannah make the decision to kill herself. The tapes are passed on and on to each person who is on the next tape after yours, and lucky Clay Jensen is the latest person to recieve them.
He secretly listens to the tapes late into the night, going to each spot that Hannah has marked on the map that came with the tapes. Some things that Hannah had said, he just couldn't believe. He thought, " why would anyone want to do that to you? Was it worth it? Are you happy that you made a girl end her life?" Other things hit him as almost amusing. But when his name finally popped up, his whole point of view of these tapes changed.
I would really recommend this book because you can really see what goes on in the mind of a high school girl with doubts on her own life. I thought it was very well written and had some suspense about what a certain person did, or why something happened the way it did. I think the author gave a perfect amount of detail and really knew what he was talking about. I LOVED THIS BOOK!

Pretty scary subject, Melanie. Great job on the review, but I'm not sure I want to read it. I've known people who have made that selfish, terrible, final choice. If you ever want to talk more about the book, let me know.
