Earth Day poetry assignment

Page history last edited by AKabodian 13 years, 5 months ago

Notebook entry:

"Poem notes" --- Take notes on what you see, hear, and feel in class today.  You will be turning your notes into a poem about the Earth.  Your notes could be images you see or think of, facts you learn, ideas you have, etc.

We will be looking at some photos and reading some information about the Earth.

Then, we will take a short walk.

You will have some time to write and/or draw along the way and at the end.

Write a poem (or two) that has something to do with the Earth.

It could be about one of the photos you see.  It could be about the facts you read.  It could be about something you see or think of when we are outside.  (or some combination of those)

Feel free to draw a picture to go with your poem (if you want to).

  • 10 points
  • About 1 page written (one long poem, a few shorter poems, five or more haiku...)
  • Final draft due on Wednesday (these will go on the back wall in our room)
