O.Henry has written two stories that are very different, but very much alike. These stories are,"A Retrieved Reformation," and "Afer Twenty Years". The differences in these stories are, they have different personality transitions, and what the meaning of the cop is to the criminal. In these two stories, thee is a criminal, a cop, a suprise ending, and a decision that someone will have to make.

One important difference in the story, is that they both have differet personality transitions. In the beginning of "After Twenty Years", Jimmy describes himself when he wasw younger, and a harworking, honest man. Then youf ind out that he is currently a wanted criminal. This is his transition from good to bad. In the beginning of "A Retrieved  Reformation", Jimmy Valentine is a thief, but becuase of Annabel, he eventually becomes good. Although, at some point in both of the stories, they are both criminals.

Another important difference in the stories, is that the meaning of the cop to the criminal. In "After Twenty Years", the cop is the criminal's best friend. Bob(the cop) had formerly been Jimmy's closest friend years ago. Unlike "A Retrieved Reformation", where Jimmy Valentine doesn't know the cop very well, but in the end, the cop lets him go. In both of the stories, the cop ohas a very important decision to make. Whether to let the criminal go, or to send him to jail.

So in the end, these two stories have many different similarities and differences. The differences, are that both of the Jimmys' have important personality transitions, at least one criminal, and tehre is an important decision to be made. So even though these stories may be somewhat different and somewhat the same, they both still bring joy to people around the world.
