SEMESTER 2

This is my 2nd semester reflection.

This year was by far one of my favorite in school, especially with mr.kabodian around. one of the things i liked are the wiki pages in English. they are easy, fun, and useful to use. you can also see what other people did on the wiki pages, so you can get an idea of what your work should look like, and you can also find this info on the front page.

This is my "this i believe" essay.

There are many things different people believe in. these are just some examples of things people believe in. some things i believe in are confidence, truth, and that video games are awesome.

something you always hear and always will is that confidence is key. many people pass this by as something that your parents say to stop you from freaking out at a performance. this is not the case. if you're shaking, scared, and nervous, people always notice. there are many situations like this, and we all have been through at least one. but if you have confidence, you can easily avoid this. also, you have a better chance of being successful. for example, if you're reviewing for your first job, people will not hire you if you're nervous. if you walk in with an upright poise, and ready to assert your skill, then you have a much better chance.

some may say that you must lie about everything, but this is always wrong. the key is to tell the truth as much as   possible. especially in some cases, where you will be in danger if you lie. truthfulness is also important in school, for example, if you plagiarize, you will be graded very badly, so tell the truth every chance you get.

let's face it. we all have our own favorite media. mine is video games, as you know if you even know me. i may sound stupid when i say this, but video games are my favorite type of media. even though some are bad, most games are very good, such as Skyrim. in the long run, video games are the best.

in conclusion, there are many different things people believe in. some things i believe in are confidence, truth, and video games are awesome.

this is my argumentative essay.

We should really do something about global climate change. First off, I must state we are the main cause of global climate change. This caused more global flooding, less habitats, and temperature rising.

Everyone knows the risk and dangers of floods. It damages crops, which sets off an economic chain reaction and eventually the fall of economy. And everyone is always like, “this economy sucks, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...", but this is actually a big problem because it can affect the whole globe, not just one area or nation. This is because carbon emissions and greenhouse gases are destroying crops by causing floods due to melting ice caps. Also, with less ice to reflect the extra rays of sunlight, it is even worse.

Let’s face it. We really do care about animals, even if we think we don't. Especially meat lovers, but just imagine a world with less meat. And the recent increase in temperature, less and less habitats are available for animals, and then this also harts the economy with a chain reaction. And even with stronger and carnivorous animals, they will die out due to lack of food. Overall, there will be less habitats and more death of animals and people.

Temperature rising is a severe problem. This leads to more death of plants, animals, and humans. And like stated before, this can really hurt the economy. Not only that, also basic average health. And we all know that health is most important. Temperature rises also take away the habitats of animals in the wild, and also in zoos and preserves. This is how temperature change is very serious.

In conclusion, there are many ways climate change is severe. These include more global flooding, less habitats, and rises in temperature.

Lighting Thief vs. Red Pyramid

I am Comparing and Contrasting the 2 Rick Rioridan Books, The lightning thief and The Red Pyramid. The following is how they are similar and different.

The 2 stories compare in many ways, but only some have enough room to be listed. They are obviously both by rick Rioridan. They are also both in a series. And finally, they both have kids in the story.

The 2 stories are different, which is a small group of facts. The Red Pyramid has 2 main characters, as The Lightning Thief  has 1. The main group has 3 in The Lightning Thief, and The Red Pyramid has 4 in the main group. And the last difference is pretty obvious, The Lightning Thief is based on Greece, and The Red Pyramid is based on Egypt.

In conclusion, The Red Pyramid and The Lightning Thief Compare and Contrast in many ways.

Research Paper Final Draft

By:Miles Jackson

Ever wonder who led to Modern Technology? Lots of people have. The `Fathers` of Modern Technology include Benjamin Franklin, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, and My personal Favorite, Larry Page.

Benjamin V. Franklin played Probably the Biggest Role in Modern Society. As most people know, he is the one to discover usable Electrical Energy for Power. From my understanding, he contained this new wonder (to him) in bottle-like jars. According to the URL www.content.time.com/time/packages/article, these Jars were called Leyden Jars. This is also how batteries and other ways to contain energy were inspired.

Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison were connected in a bad way. They both lived around the same time, as well. People think Edison was so awesome and creative, when really he wasn’t. Most of his ideas were Stolen, and the one he  did make, he just made the light bulb work. Nikola Tesla, However, was the opposite. Just some of his inventions include the Tesla Coil (of course), Remote Controls, Radio Transmission, and the Inductor Motor. Tesla isn’t necessarily an angel, though. Once, he thought that Electrical Charge could safely pass through a living thing, but he was dead wrong. He tried it, and he literally fried an elephant in public.

Steve Jobs contributed a lot to modern Technology. He was born in san-francisco, and was later adopted. At age 13, he got his first job at H.P co., where he met the co-founder of apple, and he later started working at a video game company, atari. Steve is so important because he co-founded Macintosh, the first home used computer. You can find this info and much more at www.allaboutstevejobs.com/bio/timeline.php.

Larry Page is the guy who is pretty high on the cool list. Larry Page graduated from Stanford university, after attending East Lansing High School. He is the one who co-Founded Google with Sergey Brin. He is also the current president of Google. Larry Page was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2004. You can find this info and much more at www.google.com/company/facts/management.

In conclusion, the `Fathers` of Modern Technology Include Benjamin Franklin, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, and Larry Page.

This is my poem.

When you enter a world without limit,

you must make sure to commit,

that you won't slap the quit,

and if you do, you will admit.

and you must solemnly swear,

you will not get a scare,

and you will not use the flare.

that's a simple dare, and you really should care.

care for foes you will not,

and when you grow old  you have fought.

ammo, you have a lot, and "so a tough guy" you thought.

hold on, the controller is hot.

so raise the flag, this won't be a drag,

and major lag, not right to brag.

time to nag, so you don't have to zigzag,

and look in the mag, try to take down that stupid rag.

so plug in the headphones, spawn in some clones,

and the ones who are loaned will get owned.

zombies will groan, players will moan.

you're not alone, so don't lose a cone.

games are awesome, especially when you're bawssome!

SEMESTER 1

This is my final reflection.

This wiki page is probably the easiest page on the internet that i have ever used. with the easy navigation, i can get a lot more done than Microsoft word. and considering the trouble i have with websites, this is a huge advantage i use. and most of the websites out there, such as Google or yahoo, you actually have to have an e-mail to get 3/4 of the features that people want to use in the first place. and even if you do have an account, you still can't use one half of the features, until you install all of this software that some times you even have to PAY for. but with this website, you can do your homework in a timely manner, and you can read things you trust from people you know. i think that this page is a good addition to the school, too, since it's school safe, and meant for academics, you know you can trust your kids on it.

this year, i learned about how to productively use a computer by getting better at typing, even though i'm not using home row keys. i learned that mutations in D.N.A don't always have to be bad, too, for example, if an animal can over-run a predator with strength, or get away faster, is that a bad thing? also, i learned a whole new fret with the clarinet, as well as a few songs that aren't band related. and last but not least, i learned too much gamma can be bad for your eyes, from experience and my science teacher. that's basically my school year so far in a nut-shell.

This is my persuasive essay.

Why we should Have Better Lunch Choices

What is the current quality of the lunches right now? Pretty bad, if you ask me. And they expect us to pay for them. And the lunches either tastes like they were deep fried and oozing with oil, taste like Styrofoam, or, on most occasions, taste like both. I think we should have better school lunches because they are not nutritious enough, they are bad for you, and they just plain disgusting!

Okay, everyone knows the brain needs nutrition. But with the current lunch choices and quality, the brain doesn’t get all the protein and energy to think properly. And the proportions are small, and not satisfying. This is very important because it actually affects people’s grades, which we all know is important.

School lunches have always been very bad for you. Even if you have a healthy life style, in shape, but still ate school lunches, you would be very fat. All that grease and artificial flavorings, just American food in a nut shell. And people actually pay for the bad “food” from the school systems. This also affects learning because people are too worried about what the “meat” is made out of, rather than their math test.

And last but not least, school lunches have been notorious for being nasty tasting. I mean seriously, that stuff is just disgusting! And people pay for that “food”, and we all wonder what the mystery meat is: monkey, or donkey meat? It’s hard to tell. But at least we get a lot of choices, even though they stink of oil and gruel. Might as well eat prison food rather than that stuff.

In conclusion, I think we should have better school lunches because they are not nutritious, they are bad for you, and they are just nasty. This is why they should offer students better school lunches.

This is my personal narrative essay.

You know how they legalized certain fireworks in Michigan just before the 4th of July? i can see why they even ilegalized them in the first place. it's a long story, but i'll tell it anyways. twas a dark and loud night, wait. too far. lets go back a couple of hours. it was as sunny and as warm as a baked armadillo. we bought some really good fire works from a tent in Lansing, by an old mall. they were all good ones, including the ladybug, mother goose, and of course, the buzz kill. then, we all got in the car, and we were off to taco bell, then home. after doing a few firecrackers, it started to get a little darker. and it was time to get out the big guns. fast forward. we just got done with some roman candles, when we thought it would be fun to do some loud fire works.so, my mom sent me inside to get the buzz kill pack. when i went back outside, everyone was waiting. anyways, so what happened when we lit it is i saw sparks fly, and loud loud noises. and all of a sudden, i saw a ball of fire fling towards my mom. every one ran, and then, it went out. that is all i remember. we all are still traumatized, but me.that is my buzz kill experience.

This is my book of choice review.

"the red pyramid" by rick rioridan is about 2 siblings, saddie, a spoiled British girl, and carter, the younger of the 2 that tours around the world studying ancient Egyptian artifacts with his father, Julius kane. so one night when the 3 met together to go to a museum, Julius was banished to oblivian by the Egyptian god, Set, as carter and saddie were both unconcious from the impact of the Rosetta stone blowing up after Julius encrypted another line into it. the 2 siblings go on an epic quest to find their beloved father, ant they find that the Egyptian gods are all real. i think it's a very good read, and it's all based on facts.

when on the wiki, you must keep comments positive, and school related. if not, you may end up suspended, or even loss of wiki page. also, if you forget homework or was absent, go to the homework page.if you don't want to, well, that stinks. make sure to stay consistent with your font choice. in conclusion, in order to keep the page awesome, be reasonable with the internet.
