My Book Review of The Book that was Never Written
I start with a catchy first sentence; it could be a question, a quote from the story, an observation about the title, or some other catchy thing. Then I give a general introduction to the book, including the title, the author, and an overview of the gist of the book review.
This is where my summary really starts. I explain the setting and the main characters and begin to explain the plot.
I may say more about the main conflicts in the story here. I’d use a quote or an example from the story to further explain what I’m trying to get across.
I would wrap up the plot in this paragraph. I wouldn’t give away the ending, but would attempt to entice the reader into reading the book. I would give a clear recommendation and reasons for my suggestion. My ending sentences would either relate back to the beginning of the review, strongly suggest the reader read this book, or explain how the book applies to our lives or to the world.
