The scarlet pimpernel was written by Baroness Ozcry at the turn of the 19th century, as you go through this I will give the summary, conflict and my opinion.
The book starts in 1972 in France and England an Englander has been saving aristocrats from the French revolutions bloody guillotine and all he leaves is a little red flower called a scarlet pimpernel.
Chovlan has been tryint to figure out who this scarlet pimpernel is to move up in the government, so knowing this man is in the higher rungs of British society so he targets Margeret Blakeny who is known as "the smartest woman in all of Europe," is the wife of the famous Percy Blakeny and some one he knows well, but Margeret says no to his opportunity to help the republic of France.
Later in the same day Chovlan catches a member of the scarlet pimpernels bandand finds out a loyal member of the republic has gone bad Armand St. Just... Margeret's brother.
A couple of days later Chovlan came to lady blakenys box seat and thretens Margeret to find the scarlet pimpernel for the sake of her brother who Chovlan has captured.
Later that day at lord Grenville's ball Margeret finds out through trickery that the scarlet pimpernel will be ijnthe library at 1;00 precisely. Now margeret is faced with betraying her brother or the man she has admired for his bravery but finally she chooses her brother, but when she sees Chovlan again he obviously did not find him.
The next day Margeret finds out who the scarlet pimpernel is and rushes to France to save him.
I tough this book was slow starting but got more exiting with every chapter so by the end I did not want to put the book down. I would recommend this to anyone who likes classics or misteries. This is a book deserving of its classic title.
