                                                           The Last wiki assignment!!!!! (ever)

I learned a lot of things in English this year. I liked the going outside part. I also loved the books we read. However, I didn't like the lit circles very much because we were all on different pages. I also liked doing the journal entries/ wiki assignments. Another thing I liked is how we talked so much about the things we read about as a class so it would make sense. But, I personally did not enjoy the poetry reading. Over all though, I had a great year in English.

                                                                   The beauty of the World

The glistening waters shine,

then they fall,

waiting for a lake or stream,

to catch them.

This happens as the sun shines down,

like a warm blanket wrapped around the world,

that makes trees, and flowers grow.

Trees grow up,

and touch the sky,

but their roots go down,

and reach the middle of the earth.

The flowers bring color,

they blossom upwards,

every winter they wilt,

but they will come back.

The sky goes from blue to black,

in the day white masses cover it,

at night there are specs of shimmer,

blue, or black, the sky will always look lovely.

Then there are the animals,

in fact a very large range,

the bird who fly,

to the fish who swim.

There are a number of beautiful things,

but we must keep it this way,

of the sky  might not shimmer just as much.

and the oceans might not be quite as blue,

what happens to our planet earth,

is all up to you.

                                                                                     Ending to "The Giver"

The cold wind pierced Jonas's face.  He held Gabe close to him. "It's okay little guy," Jonas whispered. He stroked Gabe's hair. Suddenly, Jonas felt an object grab his back. He jumped, Gabe slowly opened his eyes. Jonas turned. the object was a hand. A women was standing behind him.

Her soft voice spoke," I saw your footprints as I was walking. You look freezing." Jonas nodded his head. " Now come on before before you and that little baby freeze." Jonas followed the woman, hoping they would arrive at a warm destination soon.

In a matter of minutes they had gotten to a place similar to the one in his memory. It had candle lit windows, and red and green lights on trees outside. He looked down and saw the baby's face light up. when the door opened, children came rushing to him. Jonas could tell that the people were going to take good care of him and Jonas.

                                                                                                 JFK Assassination Paper

JFK ( John F. Kennedy) was a well loved president. His assassination was a tragic event in history, and is still relevant today. In the next paragraphs you will learn about his assassination as well as his life before it.

John F Kennedy was born on May 29th, 1917 in Brooklyn, Massachusetts. He was a sickly child. He was ill most of the time. When John got scarlet fever as a kid, his chances of survival were less. In school, JFK did not earn very good grades, probably because he had to stay home a lot.

As John got older, he started to help write local newspapers. After that, JFK joined the Navy. He soon went to World War 2 with the US. John went on to start his political career in 1946. And was elected president in 1960.

On November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas president Kennedy was shot in the head while on his parade route. This was a tragic event, that is strongly remembered today. It is believed that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy. He also accidently shot the governor in the shooting. The governor was  wounded but not killed. JFK was rushed to the hospital at 12:30, at 1:00 the president was officially announced dead, he was only 46. Lee also killed a police officer when he was being questioned. 2 days after shooting the president, Lee Harvey Oswald was killed by Jack Ruby.

Even though it is believed that Lee killed JFK, some believe other things. Here are some conspiracy theories. One is that Kennedy might have been shot by accident by a service agent behind him. Some witnesses even say they heard a gun shot behind them, another shooter could have been a grassy knoll. Some also think that the vice president could have killed Kennedy because his wanted to be president. These are just a few examples of many.

Kennedy was killed in a sudden, unfortunate way. coincidentally, so were many other Kennedys. Some people call this the Kennedy curse. A small handful of things the Kennedys passed away from include brain tumors, skiing accidents, drug overdoses, and plane crashes.

As you can now see, John F. Kennedy was a well loved president who inspired many. He died of a tragic event that is still not forgotten. After reading this essay you learned more about JFK and his importance.

                                                                                                      Values Paragraph

Some of my values are respect for others, freedom, creativity, faith, and honesty. These are all traits that are important to me. Respect for others is important because if you don't respect others they wont respect you. Freedom because it lets people speak their opinions. Creativity because it lets people express themselves. Faith because it gets me through tough times. And honesty because it goes along with respect for others.

                                                                                                                         Career Summary Paragraph

I chose my career to be an interior designer. Interior designers decide what colors, lighting, and materials will be good for a space. To get this job, people usually need a bachelor's degree in design. They will also need to take classes in interior design, drawing, and computer design. I think this job would be a good fit for me. This is because it uses a lot of creativity.

What I Could Do In The Future

I think as a student in the future I could work on being a bit more organized. I could make sure I keep things in the place they are supposed to go. At sometimes now, I just put them in the spot that is the closest.

                                                                                                                 the stage

          Being on stage,

your character can be happy or

in rage.

Acting lets your feelings pour out,

even if you think you're about

to mess up.

When you act your emotions change,

even if you feel they are out of range.

Being on stage,

your character can be happy

or in rage.

When the audience stares at you,

you stare at them back,

you realize there is no lack

of attention towards you

when your on stage.

it feels like you've just been let out of a cage,

when you're on stage,

when you're on stage.

                                                                                             THE JOB

When I was born I was born I was assigned the number 823917. Today is my 15th birthday. This means it's the day I get my job. I'm really hoping for chef. That's the one job I really want. I walked to the room with my friend, Chloe. "Are you nervous," she asked. "not really," I replied.

The man calling numbers was sitting in a big chair. "And now for the chefs, 843731,987215,and," I crossed my fingers,"823," those were my first numbers,"918." I nearly started crying. Chloe gave me a hug. "It's alright," she said.

More jobs were called. Chloe was now a lawyer. "Our next job will only have one, lucky person. It is the job of serving the queen." Everyone in the room thought it would be cool to work for the queen. I always thought it wouldn't be very fun. whoever got this job would have to leave their friends and families. "what are ya gonna do if you get this one Auna?" Chloe said jokingly. I gave her a look that showed her I was annoyed.

"Our lucky number is 8...2...3...9..." Please don't be me, please don't be me" I thought. "1...7," oh my goodness. That was my number. I looked up at Chloe, she looked back at me. In walked up to the man so he could give me my card. I looked down at it. It read,

                                   823917       Auna

                                   job description: serving the queen

                                              eyes: blue

                                             hair: brown

                                             gender: female

                                             age: 15 years

                                             height: 5ft 6in

I looked back up at him and produced a fake smile. He looked at me and said," There's a cab waiting for you outside to take you to the palace. You won't need to  pack, we have everything for you there." "Can I say goodbye to my family?" I asked. "There's a phone in the car but you won't be seeing them in person."

When I firs got to the cab the first thing I did was call my mom. I told her everything. I hear her sobs over the phone. The man driving told me that we were there. "Bye mom," said.

The man, who never bothered to mention his name, opened the castle doors. It was dark. He led me down a hallway with dim flickering lights. "Everything you need is in there," the man said.

I went in the room. Apparently all I needed was a gallon of water, a loaf of bread, butter, broccoli, and a bed. I put on my uniform and reported to the main hall.

There was a man standing in the corner. "Now we just have to get you tested," he said. I gave him my, what in the world are you talking about look and walked over. "Just come to this room here, it will only hurt a bit." That's when he immediately gave me a shot making me fall to......

Serving the queen was all I could think about when I woke up. It interrupted all my thoughts. Serve the queen, serve the queen, serve the queen, serve the queen, serve the queen, serve the queen' serve the queen.......

ESSAY

SMOKING SHOULD BE BANNED IN THE U.S.

Smoking can cause lots of problems, that is why it should be banned in the U.S. First of all smoking can be  extremely expensive. Secondly, smoking can cause many health problems. Lastly, second hand smoke can make people very sick. These are all reasons smoking should be banned.

Smoking is extremely expensive. altogether, the money can add up. Let's say  someone smokes a pack of cigarettes a day. Each pack costs about ten dollars. It may not seem like much but this means every week that person spends seventy dollars and, three thousand six hundred fifty dollars a year. This can take money away from food, water, and much more. Being expensive is not the worst that smoking can do.

Smoking can cause many health problems. It can cause osteoporosis, this is a condition where bones become less dense, making it easier for them to fracture. Smoking can also cause many cancers, in places like the lungs, nose, mouth, throat, liver stomach, kidneys, and many more. Smoking can also effect the eyes. It can cause mucular degeneration, cataract, and optic nerve damage, leading to blindness. (betobaccofree.com)

Lastly, second hand smoke can be as bad as smoking itself. Second hand smoke is basically when a person not smoking inhales the smoke from the end of the cigarette.  forty nine thousand non smoking adults die each year from being exposed to second hand smoke. As you can see, this is a big problem. Millions of people breath second hand smoke. Even though smoking is banned in many public places, it can still be inhaled. Not only is smoking deadly to the person with the cigarette, It is also deadly to the person breathing in the smoke.

As you now see, smoking can be very bad. It is expensive, bad for your health, and second hand smoke can be almost as bad as smoking itself. These are all reasons that smoking should be banned in the U.S. Do you agree?

I enjoyed your unique book review, Zoe. The writing was great --- and that crazy-wonderful chair, the story-through-shapes idea, and the sound effects made it that much more interesting.
