Aliya's book review for HOOT

Page history last edited by aliya 9 years, 6 months ago

Carl Hiaasen's HOOT is a fun realistic fiction book. Roy Eberhardt is on a quest to help find a way to save the owls from the construction of the new pancake house. Roy also meets some new people in his new home, Florida. Like Beatrice Bear; a tough girl in his grade, Garret his 'best' friend that shows him the ways of his new school; Trace Middle. He also gets in some trouble with the school bully Dana the bully , but you will learn about that incident when you read the book. He also sees this boy about his age running and he was wearing no shoes that is how Roy gets into the adventure to help save the owls. Weird right? how can a boy with no shoes start Roy on his journey? Well I'm not a spoiler.

Reading this book made me think a lot. it was like a mystery because they were trying to figure out who was making a ruckus of the construction site. which made me think; if they mention the boy with no shoes then he has to be part of what is going on. But that's just a prediction. i also love the humor and the story, it is so random but interesting I couldn't put it down. and i hope you read this awesome book i totally recommend this book for some thing to read when you are down. so READ THIS BOOK it is a great one.
