The Burning

Page history last edited by milton 9 years, 6 months ago

" A great battle is on the horizon and drawing near. In preparation, Soren and his band must fly to the mysterious Northern Kingdoms to find allies and study the grim art of war.  Meanwhile, St. Aggie's has fallen to the Pure Ones. If they are not stopped, they will launch another, more deadly attack against the great tree. And without allies from the north, Ga'Hoole will surely fall. Soren's mission must succeed. And the final battle must be won.  The coming conflagration will demand wisdom, bravery, and sacrifice from all the owls of the great tree, and from Soren and the band, nothing less than heroism".

PLOT

The Chaw of Chaws is sent to the northern kingdoms from a mission from Ezylryb.  the mission states that Ruby and Martin are going to find a kielian snake, Hoke of Hock.  Hoke of Hock was recruited to recruit other kielian snakes.  Otulissa and Gylfie are sent to the Glauxian Sister's Retreat to drop Dewlap off because she betrayed the great tree.  also they will fly to the Gloxian Brother's Retreat to read the last copy of a book that was destroyed.  The rest of the Chaw of Chaws is sent to the Firth of Fangs to learn about ice swords and how they are used.

WHAT I THINK

I think this was a great tail of action and adventure.  the characters are well defined with well put together personalities.  I love the plot of this book and how the main characters have many obstacles to overcome along the way.  as much as I like the book there are some problems I have with it.  one of the problems I have is that sometimes the book gets a little sidetracked on what is happening.  another problem that I have but a lot of other people like is the language made up, like great gluax for example.  overall I think this book deserves 4.2/5
